We are Diane Ghogomu and Gavin Kendrick (and Navéla the Great Dane).
Cacao Love is our regenerative business, where we collaborate directly with Asháninka growers in Peru.
We are initiates of earth-honouring traditions, and have dedicated much of our adult lives to studying and creating ceremonial space.
We are lovers, writers, researchers and ritualists.
We’ve shared more about our polyrhythmic relationship here, and in our book, Cacao Ceremony, we’ve documented our journey with cacao over the last fifteen years.

Diane Ghogomu
I am a ceremonialist, educator, and musician from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My Cameroonian heritage, South American sojourns, and Kenyan home have shaped me into a bridge between worlds.
I am a Harvard-educated Fulbright recipient, published scholar and filmmaker, weaving rigorous scholarship with sacred practice. Drawing from initiations in Central and East African healing music traditions, I cultivate joy-centred ritual spaces.
My life is dedicated to supporting African and Indigenous wisdom keepers to cultivate ecological, economic, cultural, and spiritual sovereignty.
Gavin Kendrick
I am a writer from Liverpool. Over the last decade, I have shared cacao produced by Asháninka growers with thousands of people around the world. I publish weekly essays that illuminate the connections between ceremonial practice, neuroscience, and practical wisdom in living a heart-led life.
I am a lifelong student of the forest mysteries, and have apprenticed in traditions from the Peruvian Amazon, Central African rainforest, and Druid revival. I am also a ceremonial musician, playing the eight-string sacred harp, log drum, and mouth bow.
I am a forest gardener, and teach syntropic agroforestry from our two acres of land on the Kenyan coast.
If you would like to study with us, we both offer private mentorship on walking the plant medicine path. Gavin also coaches ethical entrepreneurs in regenerative business.
